Steven Craig Morse

Steven "Steve" Craig Morse, 71, of Ashland, Missouri passed away at his home on June 9, 2025, surrounded by family.

Steve was born to Lowell and Johnnie Morse on February 6, 1954, in Melbourne, Arkansas. He grew up in Kansas City and Columbia and was a 1972 graduate of Hickman High School. Steve married Kathy Neville on January 30th, 1981. The couple raised their family in the Howard and Boone County areas. Steve worked in several different fields as an adult, including law enforcement and welding until he later returned to school to pursue his love of photography. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1993 with a Bachelor's Degree in Photojournalism. He then worked for a few local newspapers and retired from the University of Missouri Alumni Association's publication "Mizzou Magazine" in 2010.

Steve is survived by his wife Kathy of their home, a son, Joey Fuemmeler of Macon, MO (wife Jenny), and two daughters, Amy Fuemmeler of Mexico, MO (partner Shannon Smith) and Christina "Chris" Floyd of Springfield, MO (husband Luke), 6 grandchildren: Denise Ross, Cassidy Fuemmeler, Jade Fuemmeler, Emma Floyd, Scarlett Floyd and Harper Floyd, a grand dog Isabella, one great-grandson Jax Patterson, a niece Tara Morse of Shawnee, KS, and cousin Katy Hayes of Ozark , MO (husband Jack). Steve was close to his sisters- in-law Angie Begemann (husband Gregg) of Hartsburg, MO and family (Rose, Dustin, Dalton) and Theresa Pulley (husband Dan) of Bunceton, MO and family (Dan & Nicole, Hillari & James and William). Steve was preceded in death by his parents, brother Stuart Morse, nephew Tyler Morse, his father-in-law Bill Neville and his mother-in-law Edith Neville.

The family is planning an independent celebration of life at a later date.
