Mary Jean McQuegge

Mary Jean McQuegge, age 83, of Columbia passed away January 31, 2026, at the University of Missouri Hospital.

Mary was born in Ashland on October 27, 1942, a daughter of John “Billy” Thomas and Myrtle Phillips Thomas. She married William “Bill” McQuegge on May 27, 1988, and he survives at their home.

Mary was a loving homemaker and loved children. Bill lovingly remembers her as a “kid magnet.” She had a strong faith and lived it. She enjoyed reading her Bible as evident in the wear on its cover and pages. Mary passed following a battle with dementia.

In addition to her husband Bill, Mary is survived by her sons, John Ogden, David Ogden and Mark Ogden (Bridgett); a son-in-law, Thomas McManus; brothers, Billy Ray Thomas (Debbie), David Thomas (Cheryl) and Jerry Thomas (Pamela); sister, Emily Edwards; grandchildren, Ashley Ogden, Kayla Ogden; great grandchild, Colson Hendren and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Lori Ogden McManus and a sister, Linda Williams.

Funeral services honoring Mary’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Robinson-Yager Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Glen Foreman officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hartsburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
