Jerome Estil Glascock husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend passed away at his home, Saturday, September 12, 2026.

In lieu of a traditional visitation the family will provide lunch for family, friends and friends of family to celebrate Jerome’s life at the Ashland Optimist Club at noon. The Optimist Club will be open at 10:00 a.m.

Funeral service will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Robinson-Yager Funeral Home in Ashland, MO with burial at Woodcrest Church Cemetery immediately following the funeral.

Jerome was born May 11, 1944, to Estil (Pud) Glascock and Berniece Begemann Glascock who preceded him in death. He graduated from Southern Boone High School in 1962 and immediately enrolled in Moler Barber College in Kansas City, Missouri. He began barbering at Glascock Barber Shop December 21, 1962. In 1973 his Uncle Bobbie passed away, and his Aunt Bettie gave the shop to Jerome saying, “If you work hard and keep the doors open you can make a good living cutting hair.” And he did for 64 years, widely known as “The Barber”.

Jerome believed in God, family, country, and community. He was a businessman and believed in customer service, growth of the community and giving back to others. He liked to farm, raise cattle, and plant new crops. His hobbies were restoring old trucks and FarmAll tractors and showing toy tractors at farm shows and parades.

Jerome loved his children and grandkids. He recognized their individual personalities and was vested in what they were doing, what he could do to help them, and cheered them on to achieve their goals.

Jerome was a member of Goshen Primitive Baptist Church, former Worshipful Master of Ashland Masonic Lodge 156, Order of Eastern Star 309, Ashland Bow Club, Cedar Valley Riders Saddle Club, Ashland Optimist Club, Missouri High School Rodeo Association, longtime worker and supporter of the Cattlemen’s Days Rodeo, thirty-year member and two-time President of Consolidated Water District #1.

He is survived by his wife Janet Sue (Forsee) of 63 years, son Mike (Callie) Glascock, Betsy (Travis) Davidson, Leea (Jeff) Estes of Ashland, MO and grandchildren Ashton (Cord) Barricklow, Austin (Andrea) Davidson, Logan (Carsyn) Davidson, Sam (Abigayle) Davidson, Cray Estes, Cade Estes and great grandsons Lane, Wyatt and Baby B Davidson, great granddaughter Winnie Sue Barricklow, sister-in-law Rosie (Tommy) Wyatt & families, John & Marilyn Forsee families, Glascock & Begemann cousins, friends and customers.

In lieu of flowers, a love offering in Jerome’s name can be given to Woodcrest Church Cemetery Fund or Hospice Compassus in care of the family at 2700 E. Route M, Hartsburg, MO 65039.
