James Audrey “Jim” Dodson, of Ashland, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at the age of 90.
James was born in Columbia, Missouri on June 13, 1935, to Eddie and Opal Dodson. On April 8, 1960, he married Clercy Forbis.
James owned and operated Jim’s Lock and Key in Columbia, Missouri for 25 years. James was also in the United States army for six months until he was medically discharged. In his younger years, James enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a former member of the Elks Lodge.
James is survived by his daughter, Sharon Wickers (Leo), of Ashland; and one sister, Ellen Wyatt. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Samantha Sapp, Jamie Buckner (Brandon), Leo Wickers IIII (Angel) and David Wickers (Haileigh); and five great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one great-grandchild, and two brothers; Thomas Dodson and Willie Loveall.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial Contributions may be made out to The American Cancer Society in care of Robinson-Yager Funeral Home.
