Danny Eugene Blount, 68, of Hannibal, Missouri, formerly of Ashland, passed away on May 18, 2026 at The University of Missouri Hospital. Danny was born on May 26, 1957 to the late Donald Blount and Dorothy Nichols in Columbia, Missouri. Danny was a graduate of the Southern Boone High School in Ashland.

Danny dedicated two years of service to the United States Army from 1977-1979, before being honorably discharged.

In his free time, Danny enjoyed making arts and crafts, often taking his pieces of work to various craft shows to earn extra money. He loved his two cats- Masha and Boyer and was an avid fan of late 1900’s Country Music. Every year, Danny spent the holidays with his family.

Danny is survived by cousins, Theresa Malcarne (John), Marlys Perez (Osbin), Derrick Poe (Kathy), Robert Turner; his aunt, Kathy Lund-Nichols; and his caregiving friend, Judy Jones.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Opal Louise Bennett-Nichols; and his aunts, Judy Poe and Willa Turner.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Central Missouri Humane Society.

Services for Danny will be held at Robinson-Yager Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 1:30pm. The family will receive friends for thirty minutes prior to the funeral service. Danny will be laid to rest at New Liberty Cemetery following services.
